Local Attractions

The town of Paniqui is one of the most beautiful town in the province with a carefully planned and organized poblacion area endowed with a large park that is known to be as the best among the municipal parks in the province of Tarlac.

Historical Sites

  • Barangay Acocolao - The site where a Moslem Sultan named Alimudin was baptized in favor of Christianity and renouncing Islam in 1750.
  • Barangay Matalapitap - The site (YC Compound) where the monument of the roots of the Cojuangco including the family of the former President Corazon Aquino is located.
  • Barangay Manaois - The site where on of the oldest Sugar Central, the Paniqui Sugar Mills in the Philippines is located.
  • Barangay Rang-ayan - where the famous Tarlac River cut across and stretches towards Agno River in Pangasinan.  Local residents sometimes hold picnic events in this place.
  • Barangay Poblacion Sur - The site where one of the oldest church in the Philippines, the St. Rose of Lima is located.  The church was reconstructed sometime in the early 20's from the old structure built during the old Spanish time.  Beside the structure is the Convent, now used as residence of the local parish priest.

  • Don Melencio Cojuangco Freedom Park - the beautification of the park commenced last June 1987 and inaugurated November 27, 1989.  The Freedom Park Quadrangle lies the Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. monument.  There, you can also find a nice fountain with dancing lights, fenced lawn, stereo music house, public restrooms, and a recreation center.
  • Paniqui Children's Playground - children will enjoy the different animal slides and children's swings for free at the children's playground beside the Don Melencio Cojuangco Freedom Park.
  • Paniqui also has numerous resorts like the Rasig Palace Hotel and Resort (in Barangay Acocolao), RG Place and Kambingan Resort (in Barangay Salumague), JRG Resort (in Poblacion Norte Baltazar Subd.), and Narciso Salvador Aloha Resort (in Barangay Cabayaoasan).
