Marriage Licensing

Every resident who wishes to get married must apply for a license. This is a primary requirement of any church or civil court who will conduct the marriage. Before you can secure a license, your name and that of your would be spouse will be posted on the Municipal Bulletin Board for ten days. If there are no valid objection from local residence the license could be issued. Another requirement for you and your would be spouse is to attend a seminar on family planning from your local health center.

Requirements:

a.    Must be at least 18 years old and above and both or either a resident of this municipality
b.    Certificate of Live Birth
c.    Certification of No Marriage (CENOMAR) (Optional)
d.    Legal Capacity to Marry for alien applicant
e.    Divorce Paper for alien applicant who are legally  divorced

Procedures:

1.    Submit the documentary requirements to the Local Civil Registrar in which you will be given an assessment of fees.
2.    Pay the required fees at the Treasury office.
3.    Encoding of Application and Posting
4.    Review of Documents and Interview of Applicants
5.    Releasing (after 10 days)
